General Discussion / Re: Omega Syndicate, Sign In! 2011/2012

I'm in and out and around. Life's been hectic little time to play MMOs so I have been playing alot of SP games lately. Haven't ever been able to find a good guild so I get bored quickly when not playing with RL friends. I should check out DDO but with SWTOR on the horizon that will be a likely use of most of my winter break. I miss they parties we had in MXO never had a game since that you could just hang around in and have fun doing it.

Rumbaar not so much that you were bad but after MXO its hard to find a MMO like it and rally everyone around it as there hasn't been one quite like it since.  :D

On a related note I found a MXO time card at a GameStop recently, I pointed out that it was a dead game but they said they still had to sell it. I wanted to buy it just to put it on my desk.

Well I guess I will leave my contact info here for Steam as that is what I can be found on most easily as I have dropped Windows live messenger recently.

Hey InhumanCode, I'm still around ...

I'm currently still playing DDO within the Omega Syndicate guild, but alas I'm the last one ...

Yes it's a shame that we couldn't care on, but I wasn't a good leader when it was active let alone when it wasn't :D  Glad to hear you're still well and happy to know you still think of the OS and the old days :)

Omega Syndicate!
I fucking miss you guys ):
I figure this won't get any replies for a long  time, but I'll just leave this here for you to reply to as each of you decide to sign in for nostalgia's sake.
What have you guys been up to? What's going on in your lives?
I used to talk to you all every day and I haven't talked to any of you in years ): Depressing.

Thx Rei.

Well for me it's two states away, so I'm fine.  But yes it's affected a lot of people.  Now with another tropical storm coming it's not the best of time to be in the states of Queensland and New South Wales.

You guys alright over there across the pond?  I've been watching all the news and the extent of the flooding there looks horrific! I hope you and yours are all okay.

Many thoughts and prayers for everyone there having to face all that.

I've created an account on LotRO, and got some cheap game cards.  So am using those to get Turbine Points to buy stuff.  The game is very different to DDO and I'm not really into it.

Hi Fernas!  Long time no see :)  I still pop in from time to time but I'm not really in any games at the moment.   I end up spending most of my day in front of a computer at work so I'm usually not in the mood to sit down at one again for any length of time when I'm home.  And really, there isn't a whole lot of games out there that are interesting me at the moment either.  Although, I may pop back into LOTRO now that xmas is over and it's free to play to check out the new mage/medic class.  Maybe I'll get inspired ;)

I changed jobs myself not too long ago and moved, and generally have been keeping pretty busy for the most part.  Life is going good though.  Sounds like things have been going pretty good for you as well which is really great to hear!

As you can see it's quite quiet around here.

I'm just on holidays and trying to enjoy the silly session.  Also trying to get some passion for games back again, but the lady friends have messed with that & boredom.

And it made me think of you guys and how bad I've been about keeping in touch.  How is life OS?  I got married and a new job since the last time I popped in here.  How about the rest of you?

General DDO Discussions / Re: Mabar, The Endless Night Festival - Banning!!
« Last post by Rumbaar on November 11, 2010, 08:31:50 AM »
Well now it seems it was all an automated error.

Quote from: Tolero
Last night, some DDO players received erroneous temporary suspensions or warnings regarding an exploit. Due to a technical issue in our exploit suspension process some players participating in the Mabar festival event were incorrectly notified of a rules violation. Any accounts that were temporarily banned as a result of this issue will have their account access restored and will be credited 100 Turbine Points. Any accounts that received warnings will have those warnings removed from their record.

This error was an isolated incident and should have no further impact for any DDO players. As always, we welcome player feedback on all aspects of DDO and continually seek to improve the quality of the service we provide to players.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion and thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve the issue.

The fact the 'automated' e-mail had, at least, two different version I've seen with wording incorrect in one.  Would indicate to me more than an automated process was involved in this error.

Also the fact it was 7+ days after the event and this statement about a Games Master investigated either means it's a lie when it's automated or not a lie and human is at fault.  Either way there is internal 'exploit' trouble within Turbine.

Quote from: Tolero
Less than a percent of users were impacted by the issue, but we will be contacting all of the impacted accounts. Note that if your contact info in your account is incorrect that you may not receive the email, but the lifting of the suspension will still happen.
More people were affected by Offer Wall and/or Premium->Free account downgrades but they didn't do anything.  The fact that there is this token offer of 100TP would indicate to me more than a percent of users [but I guess with a million inactive accounts a less than percent would be a high number of actual users] were affected it as was serious internal issues.

Still reading, but did want to clarify: there was an exploit in the summoning chamber, but it has been fixed with today's patch. We are also reviewing our exploit suspension process in detail. Thanks for your patience and very sorry for the inconvenience!
I did 5 summoning runs, with 1 failure.  But it's a combat 'public' instance with 16+ people that you do not choose and have no way of even knowing are in your instance.  But their poor game mechanics lump all people within that instance as exploiters.  Pathetic.
