In case anyone didn't know or hasn't been following it, MxOEmu Version 2.1 aka "The one where emotes work", has been released.
I've zipped together everything you need to get it running as well as some developer tools to help you get around, spawn npcs and change clothes. Here's a link to the 7z on my SkyDrive:

Oh, you do need the latest version of the game before shut down for this to work. If you've gone and deleted it (doy!) heres a download link taken from the emu forums themselves:

Hmm, now where to get the latest version of the game files is a good question!
-
Nevermind, found it :)
-
Updated with a link for the full client.
-
Hmmm very interesting.
Are we able to join group instances yet? Or still just a solo affair?
-
someone explain what this is
-
It's a way of gaining access to MegaCity once again. From what I read a while ago, you are limited to what you can do. But also you can do a lot more via the admin console, spawn stuff and change your appearance etc.
-
Solo for now. They're currently working on getting Hyper Jump working. Chats working between the player and a bot but no real 2P support as of yet.
Main place for Emu news is at their development forums but I'll try and keep this thread up-to-date as well.
-
oooo thank you for the updates on this project ^^
-
Yup, so HJ's been put on indefinate hold but it looks like the multi-player work is going pretty well. Area chat is working and npcs that one character spawns can be seen by another.
Looks like we might be gearing up to a simplistic multi-player release before years end ^_^
-
Oh rly?! I might have to install it again on my new laptop and give it a try. Funny I would have though HJ would be a lot easier than multi-player ability.
So they have a client where two people from different computer locations are in the one instance and can see actions from the other client?
-
Theoretically, yes.
He's got a rudamentory client manager in place. Not sure how many concurrent users it'll be able to handle in the end but he's had at least 2 local hosts managed, with working area chat.
And apparently the whole basis of the thing is already network enabled (I enquired about this with the original dev and got mocked for my apparent nubliness =P).
-
Well that sounds promising, but yes hopefully can get like the WoW rogue servers you can join. But I think those are only because the whole source code for the servers was available/released at one point. But I'm sure they are very limited now.
lol @ mocked .. that's a shame I'd have no clue either.
-
neat ^.^ mxo shall live once again! =P
-
Any updates on this emu?
-
Still waiting on the december release which'll add multi-user and chat support.
Anyone got a static IP server? We could run our own little OS MxO Emu =D
-
*looks at Rumbaar* ???
-
I'm not sure of the requirements for this server?
-
when you figure them out, let me know. :)
-
This is fantastic. Even if there is hardly any thing we can do at this time, it is better than nothing! ;D
-
Test Server is now up and running:

Just need to PM Rajkosto with your account details/dermoclothing values and he'll get you set up.
In other news, the Morpheus run Phython version has split from the Raj run C++ version (lolmxodrama) and can now be found at:
